Pastor John has endeared himself to those with whom he has worked and ministered. After a 12-year career teaching in the public schools, he made a God-directed shift to Pastoral Ministry. Equipped with a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary, he has pastored Wesleyan churches since 1982. One of those churches (Yarmouth, Nova Scotia) saw exciting and meaningful change from a congregation of 60 to over 500 in his 18 years of leadership there. His excellent teaching and preaching, as well as his relational manner, impacted students for six years at Bethany Bible College. While there, he served as Program Director for Pastoral Ministry and Church Planting and as Campus Pastor. Currently serving as Senior Pastor at Corbett Avenue Wesleyan in Fredericton, NB, he is married to his childhood sweetheart, Willo Ann. They have three grown children and seven grandchildren who have captured their hearts. His messages will be instructional, inspiring and not soon forgotten. We welcome him, one of our own Atlantic District ministers, to Beulah as a Special Speaker. |

Dr. H C is a Maritimer with a global heart. Born and raised in New Brunswick, as a graduate of Bethany Bible College he began his ministry in the Maritimes. Since 1971, he has served with distinction in a wide range of ministry positions; Pastor and Church Planter, District Superintendent and General Superintendent, and currently General Director of Global Partners for The Wesleyan Church. In each of these situations, he has exhibited a keen mind, insightful wisdom and a heart that is inspired with the things God is endeavoring to accomplish in the world today through His Church. Participating on numerous Boards and Councils, he has served as Chairman for many, most notably in our Atlantic District as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of BBC. He and his wife, Gloria, are thankful to live near their two children and four delightful grandchildren. An author and a busy speaker at camp meetings and conferences across denominational lines, we are very pleased to have him ‘back home’ as a Special Speaker at Beulah 2010. |
